Fall is often the time when well-intentioned friends and family split the perennials in their garden and give them to us as gifts for our garden, just a little piece of plant to fill that empty space that we may have. These plants should often come with a warning attached, as many of them are often very invasive and will take over the garden. This is usually why the plant is being given away because there is too much of it. Please be aware and ask questions about the growth habit of the plants you are receiving. When you go to a greenhouse, please, read the tags! Vigorous grower, great for naturalizing, aggressive, spreads easily, all of these descriptions are worth paying heed to. The best plant selection for a more successful and tidier garden, are plants that grow in a clumping form. All plants will spread or propagate themselves, this is part of the joy of growing perennials, however not all plants are difficult to remove or divide should you decide it is time to do so. Enjoy building your garden and trying new plant selections, just do it with care. Creative Gardens & Waterscapes offer a complete range of services to handle any landscaping or water feature project.
